Of SPIUK’s range of cycling shoes, the ZS1 is the most specialised series for competition.
In addition to meeting all the basic requirements for developing any sporting material project, such as factors of comfort, ventilation, lightness, stability and resistance, the most advanced materials have been used, and special emphasis has been placed on the design of all the pieces and on details that can help to stave off the onset of fatigue and, consequently, prolong and increase sporting performance.
ZS1RC shoes are designed for top competition: they are really light and offer optimum ventilation, great adaptability, security and resistance.
Soles play a fundamental role in all footwear, sports footwear in particular, but in cycling they constitute the foundation piece, because through them all the force of the cyclist’s legs is transmitted to the pedal. It is crucial to prevent the sole from absorbing energy due to its fl exibility. It must be stiff and light so as to achieve instantaneous and effective transmission of force.
Carbon is the ideal material for providing these characteristics. The extraordinary stiffness it possesses, along with the unparalleled lightness it offers, allows cyclists to feel all their strength meld with the movement of the bike. It constitutes the “soul” of the shoe and that’s why we say the ZS1RC has “carbon soul”.
SOLE. Built in multidirectional carbon with a silver fi nish. Extreme stiffness.
HEELPIECE. Moulded in double injection thermoplastic material. Enveloping ergonomic design. Its solidity provides heel protection and makes for effi cient pedalling, keeping muscle fatigue at bay. With four side air ventilation holes.
UPPER COVERING. With the ventilation areas (Airing Shell System) precisely arranged to ensure a completely balanced distribution for airing the foot, it is manufactured in highly adaptable and breathable LIVEPORE microfi bre.
Shiny, easily washable fi nish. The ventilated areas are made in super-strong anti-tear HIGH FLOW vent fabric.
ZIPS AND FASTENINGS. The ZS1 series comes with a micrometric zip fastener with a double security strap on the upper arch and two Velcro® bands on the two lower arches. This combination makes for a really secure precise fi t, with a pressure distribution that is perfectly adaptable to the circumstances and tastes of the cyclist.
INSIDE. The inside of the shoe is made of high quality padded MULTINEST fabric. Doublelayered tongue fl ap for greater protection and comfort.
INNER SOLES. The ZS1 and ZS2 series offer two kinds of insoles:
- The perforated blue logo insoles are suitable for hot weather.
- The red logo shoes are suitable for cold weather.
