GREAT success for SPIUK's Triathlete Virginia Berasategui!
The Basque athlete won yesterday the European Long Distance Triathlon Championship in Prage (Czech Republic). Virginia Berasategui claimed victory in a test of 4 km swimming in Vitava River, 120 km cycling and 30 km running. Berasategi adds this title to her brilliant track record. Her first top distance result came in 1997 when she finished third at the ITU World Championships in Nice. It wasn't until 2002 before she duplicated that feat, once again finishing third when Nice hosted the World Championships.
And finally in 2003 she won the ITU long course World Championship in Ibiza. The next challenge for Berasategui will be on October at Kona. She will try to improve last year´s result at Ironman Hawaii, when she was 6th.
She is going to use the new Daggon helmet, Sonic II sunglasses, and Spiuk´s cycling shoes and tri-suit. |

Tour De France Stage 8: Andorre-la-Vieille - Saint-Girons 176.5km
AG2R's Nocentini enjoys first day in leader's yellow jersey
Nocentini digs deep to maintain the lead Dropped on the final Cat. 1 ascent of the Col d'Agnès, overnight leader Nocentini was in danger of losing his golden tunic as he neared Saint-Girons, a town that tends to attract a community of mountain dwellers.
But Astana chose not to force their advantage, deciding instead to let his AG2R La Mondiale team-mates return him to the peloton, where he finished among a group of 53 riders including all the race favourites, 1:54 behind Sanchez.
"I knew [Andy] Schleck or [Cadel] Evans would eventually attack on climb; I can't follow those guys, I remained calm," said Nocentini. "Goubert was with me, helping me out, and we caught up before top of climb. "Today was a really tough day after my breakaway yesterday, probably the toughest day to be in the yellow jersey. Tomorrow there's Tourmalet, a very difficult climb, but it's very far from the finish. I hope there will be a breakaway, and they can fight it out and I'll be able to keep yellow until the rest day and as long as possible," he said.

Tour De France Stage 7: Barcelone - Andorre Arcalis 224km
AG2R Nocentini Ride into the Yellow Jersey! Twenty-two years since it was first used in 1967, and 12 years after Jan Ullrich rode himself into the maillot jaune en route to victory at the 1997 Tour, AG2R La Mondiale's Rinaldo Nocentini (wearing Spiuk Helmet) became the next great beneficiary of Andorra Arcalis as the new leader of the 96th Tour de France. "For me, this is incredible. When I jumped into the break this morning, I never thought about taking the yellow jersey. I rather thought about a stage win," said Nocentini, looking in total disbelief at first.
The maillot jaune was awarded to the 31-year-old Italian from Montevarchi by the barest of margins. "In the last five to six kilometres, we still had five minutes," said Nocentini, "that's when I though it would be possible to take the jersey."

 | January 26, 2009:
Tredley Worx/Spiuk Australia launched its new website today. The new site offers a thorough and detailed presentation of the large and comprehensive Spiuk lines.
We're thrilled to have the new site on line. It provides a wealth of information about Spiuk products and, most important, shows every item, model, and color we will have available in March 2009 for immediate shipping within Australia.
All helmets sold in Australia have satisfied the tough AS/NZ:2063 regulations including the sleek, fast Kronos time trial helmet.
European release dates are different than in Australia. In Spain, with Spiuk being the leading brand in many product categories, products are advertised online well before their release because their dealers will stock the complete range as soon as it becomes available.
In Australia, with Tredley Worx being a new company, dealers are not so much interested in what we may release in six months. Dealers and consumers can now see exactly what our catalog is comprised of and, if its on the site, we stock it. We've provided new images of all products along with nice enlargements for better views.
As the Spiuk brand becomes a household name in Australia, the models, colours and stock availability to Australian consumers will also grow.
Like everything we do in our business, this site remains the focus of constant attention and we view it as a work in progress that we will consistently develop and improve |
